The shore lurch is an ambush predator that hides at the shores of lakes and rivers, they can camouflage by emitting a glow exactly the same as the glowing microorganisms that live in these rivers, this makes them almost invisible. Then when an animal comes to take a drink they strike. They use their fifth limb like a club to knock the prey out.The shore lurch has an extendable jaw that drags the prey under, drowning it.When not hunting or eating they are not in water but burrow in the beaches to sleep or rest. They fill a similar niche as earths crocodiles and alligators do.Newborn shorelurches have no fifth limb and are amphibious.
