Evolution[]

Macrautapirs are macrauchenia-like tapirs that filled the similar niches of extinct Macrauchenias. Macrautapirs develops trunks to reach into food in high places and strong, muscular legs and small size to run away from predators. Macrautapirs are mostly widespread in Nea, Hayau, Trigua, Kasai, Laurasia and Sorna.

Description and behaviour[]

Macrautapirs often travel in large herds. They are often lead by the oldest member in the group. Macrautapirs will often alert each one another if there are predators. Macrautapirs will often fight to the death in mating seasons, when it comes to protecting the juveniles female Macrautapirs will become very aggressive and attacks anything that threatens its juveniles, even its own kind. Macrautapirs often migrate across the planet, across every continent once a year to search for new feeding and mating grounds.

Known species and subspecies[]

  • Forest macrautapir - A macrautapir that lived in the forests and woodlands of Trigua, Laurasia, Trigua and Kasai. They are about the size of a gaur and lived in medium herds, though they rarely live in large herds. They are known to defend themselves against predators.
  • Woolly macrautapir - A macrautapir that lived in the prairies, snowy savannas, polar and arctic regions, alpine and temperate grasslands of Nea, Trigua, Kasai and Laurasia. They are about the size of a moose and have evolved woollier fur to survive the harsh winters. They roamed in large herds in thousands. They form defensive circles to protect their calves against predators.
  • Desert macrautapir - A macrautapir that lived across the savannas, deserts and grasslands of Hayau. They are about the size of a Bactrian camel and roamed across Hayau in large herds in hundreds. However, many members that are old, sick or weak die along the way during migrations.
  • Jungle macrautapir - A macrautapir that lived across the jungles and grasslands of Sorna. They are about half the size of an Asian elephant and roamed in large herds in hundreds. They are known to migrate to search for new feeding grounds.
