Tropical Antarctica – 100 million years hence
Apart from birds and insects, there is one kind of reptile here in Antarctica, the Geotoise. Descended from side-necked turtles which swam there, this turtle is a powerful burrower, feeding on various insect larvae that are common in the rainforest soil. Geotoise usually reach about 30 centimetres long and can overpower even the largest subterranean insects and larvae that it finds while digging.
