The Cloudglider is, arguably, the largest known species of its family group, related to the Sky Dolphin and the Jet Hawk.
Anatomy[]
Although its name implies its flying abilities, the Cloudglider can't actually leave the water as it is too big to do so. Its body is drastically elongated into a rod-like shape, with several of its limbs adapted into ray-like fins that allow slower yet more sturdy locomotion through the water. It may appear rigid, but the spinal cord of the Cloudglider is actually very flexible, allowing it to turn its body 90 degrees on the spot to better catch prey.
It was through this creature that the family group is discovered to have similar bone structures to earth animals, though the bones of the Cloudglider in particular are more akin to cartilage, much like shark bones.
Behavior[]
Cloudgliders, in spite of their large size, specialize in smaller prey than its swifter relatives. This, as such, made the Gloudglider lower on the food chain than expected, as it is often fallen to more aggressive predators. Cloudgliders travel in small pods up to seven at max numbers, mainly made up of family groups and adolescents traveling together.
